Spa Summer Classic 2019
Let's go for the 2019 edition of Spa Summer Classic! If the first competitors are already on the track this Thursday 'till 6pm, the serious things will start tomorrow. And after the qualifyings, it's time for a very beautiful week-end in Francorchamps. We are already impatient to meet you and, in this last newsletter, let's talk with our compatriots of the Belcar.
From the Austin Mini Cooper S to the Chevrolet Corvette
4425cc ! It is the difference between the smallest and largest car in Belcar. Certainly, a mythical name of the Belgian motor sport that is again used for the national championship which brings together six different groups. From 1958 for the Triumph TR3 A of Wouter and Daan Mahieu to 1997 for the Guy Francois' Nissan Primera BTCC, the expected grid is varied and promises beautiful fights.
The Belcar Historic & Youngtimer Cup will start its races Saturday at 4:15 pm and Sunday at 1:15 pm, each time for 30 minutes (Qualifying on Friday at 14h05). Facing the Mini and Corvette, Alpine, Ford Sierra Cosworth RS, Lancia Delta Integrale or Ford GT40 will be there as well. Behind the wheel, we'll find passionate drivers like Dominique Holvoet (Toyota Celica of course ...) or Dirk Van Rompuy (BMW M3). But also Francis Lacroix (Porsche 911) and Maurice Damseaux (Austin Mini Cooper), who were already there back then.

Capri, the NeverEnding Story
Also present in Belcar, Raphael de Borman and Hervé Deger will be everywhere on this Summer Spa Classic as they also registered their Ford Capri in Colmore - Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge. And between these series, they will still be reunited with René Brugmans for the Spa 3 Hours on Saturday night !
In total, it is more than six hours of racing that await the Ford, as explained Raphael: "I admit that we should not be bored but that's why we come. We love this meeting, very good spirit, with the purest amateurs who can have fun in professional conditions. And then, there is a little of everything on the track with a real "club" spirit. On our side with Hervé and René, we will be especially happy to find other Capri on track including the one of Henry Mann. And for the challenge, we hope to pretend winning our category. "
England VS The Netherlands in F1
In our Ardennes, the English and Dutch series will be very numerous on the track. And outside, many will also be in front of the small screen Sunday around 15:10 to follow their compatriots at the Austrian Grand Prix.
In the country of his Red Bull team, the Dutchman Max Verstappen had won a year ago but no doubt that the Englishman Lewis Hamilton will be there to take his revenge after an excellent start of the season.
