Spa Six Hours, du 25 au 29 septembre

The 1969 Le Mans is undoubtedly a great moment in the motorsport world that we will be reliving in Spa with great pleasure on September 29th. However, from the 25th, the events will begin and the pre-war period will be among the first to swallow the Francorchamps curves. As far as the series are concerned, the focus will be on two new highlights by the Motor Racing Legends promoter, who will be very active on the Spa Six Hours.

Back in 1969 with Ford

On the 14th of June 1969, Jacky Ickx began the 24 hours of Le Mans at a fast pace when all the competitors rushed to run towards their horses. By taking time to securely get into his Ford GT40, which will be the last to start, the Belgian will still win the edition, for 120 metres, in the wake of the Ford victories of 66, 67 and 68.

On Sunday 29 September, the start and finish time of the race will be recreated with no less than 50 Ford GT and GT40s from the three generations. As at that time, the famous number 6 with the legendary Gulf colours will be at the start to bring this glorious moment in motorsport to life.
The previous day, there will also be no less than 20 GT40s in the Spa Six Hours race.

The pre-war years before anyone else

On Wednesday, September 25, the FBVA and Roadbook booked the track for the oldest ones, the famous Pre-War ! And if there are any in the race during the rest of the event, it is here that the road racers will be welcome for four thirty-minute sessions on the most beautiful circuit in the world.

The 75 euro pack includes everything from breakfast to lunch and the entrance bracelet for the whole event.

In the true spirit of the time

An uncrowned champion, Stirling Moss is a true icon of motorsport and he did not hesitate to give his name to a Trophy that brings together all the sports cars and GTs of the pre-1961 era. Whether in the "British Racing Green" or "Scottish Dark Blue" colours, the frames that were selected by invitation are evolving in their configuration and colour at the time. And with the latter, we will also find those of the RAC Woodcote Trophy in the same spirit.

Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy will race on the track on Friday for 30 minutes of testing, before 61 minutes of racing on Saturday from 10:40 to 11:41. In 2018, Ward (Lister Knobbly) won ahead of Ahlers/Bellinger (Lola MK1 Prototype) and Maeers/Martin (Cooper Monaco).

Diversification and authenticity in Tourism

The two-litre passenger cars will be the queens of the Under 2-liters Touring Car, which will be a collection of the frames that took part in the European Championship in this speciality between 1963 and 1965.
After a 30 minutes practice session on Friday, the real action will take place the same day with a first race from 5.10pm to 5.40pm. A second 30-minutes session is scheduled for the following day from 12:50 to 13:20. Last year, Hart won with his Alfa Romeo GTA in front of the Lotus Cortina of Balfe/Wolfe and Martin/Haddon.

There will also be Groups 5, 2 and A from the Historic Touring Car Challenge with Tony Dron, which will offer spectators a rich line-up of the most impressive passenger cars from 1966 to 1990.
