Some premieres for a really great show

Spa-Francorchamps welcomes the International GT Open this weekend 20, 21 and 22 May. This meeting is probably not the most renowned, but nevertheless, it has a simply spectacular programme this year.
First of all, the International GT Open, which has been going for 11 years, is a championship for "pro-am" (professional and amateur drivers) where GT3 -type GTs are to be found, identical to those which participate in the Total 24 Hours of Spa. These cars will participate in two races: one of 70 minutes duration on Saturday and a 60-minute race on Sunday.
This season, the World Series by Renault no longer exists. However, a new championship - the Formula 3.5 V8 - has been created for these beautiful and very powerful cars which are the ex-Renault 3.5s. So, a feast for the eyes and ears is guaranteed for all those who love these race cars which are nearly as fast as the GP2s. They will compete on Saturday and Sunday in two races of 40 minutes plus a lap.
These will not be the only single-seaters at the meeting. The Euro Formula Open is a championship reserved for Formula 3s. These magnificent cars allow the young wolves to get noticed, which will give rise to some real sparring throughout the two bouts lasting 30 and 35 minutes scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Prototype fans will not be forgotten with the Radical European Masters. They will also compete on Saturday and Sunday in three 50-minute races, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Finally, and this is the great novelty of the year, spectators can attend the first rounds of the TCR BeNeLux, which is a brand new championship for Touring cars. These cars already have a very spectacular look, and they are also very powerful, being propelled by a 320hp turbo engine; finally, they are the basis for the renaissance of a real championship sprint for motor sport in the Benelux countries. You will see VW Golf GTI, Seat Leon, Honda Civic CRT, Subaru STI, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and Opel Astra OP cars on the starting grid of five races during the weekend. On Saturday, a qualification race of 60 minutes and on Sunday, two heats by two times of 20 minutes. In short, true sprints which already promise to be hotly contested! And something very novel and original, the public will determine the starting grid for the 60 minute endurance by voting, via social networks, for their favourite drivers. A major first!
Spa-Francorchamps looks forward to seeing you on the most beautiful circuit in the world for a weekend that promises to be truly spectacular. And finally, the cherry on the cake, there is free admission!
