IT WILL BE HOT IN THE JUNIOR 1000 CATEGORY !

Appearances and appellations are sometimes deceptive. Do not think that the Junior category of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps only includes young people and/or over-eager beginners ! This may be true for 600cc, but it is much less so for 1000cc. Most of them are old circuit racers, regulars at the Track Days and even experienced competitors. Their only common point with real juniors is that they actually are over-eager !
In 2018, the first three Junior 1000 teams finished 9th, 10th and 11th overall ! Just to show that the level of the category is high. Year after year, it gets higher and higher. This is what Arnaud Brochier from Team Moto 80 remarks : "The Juniors 1000 is a category that continues to grow in power. We are always facing great battles for the victory and for the podium places. Last year, a small crash and two more pitstops than our competitors have relegated us to a 4th place. For this edition, we are aiming for the victory, and we are counting on new blood for that ! With Vincent Van Melderen and Jeofrey Bonafede, the Moto 80 team is welcoming two new members, one of whom - Bonafede - is currently leading the Belgian 1000cc Junior Championship."
The good news for them and for the others is that the Trax Racing Team (Niels Hattas - Dennis Vermoesen - Marty Debruyne), winner in 2018, got 'promoted' to the Inter category. The contenders for the victory remain nevertheless numerous, starting with the Vigenon Racing Team of Christoffe Vigenon, Geert Verhelst and David Drieghe), the Apple Racing Team of Arnaud Bojmistruk and Mathieu Vertez, the Mak Racing Team (Jeremy Ulens - Filippo Biondolillo ), the Alien 2 team (Patrice Paulis - Jeremy Legros), the Final 3 Endurance Team (Johan Larminier - Didier Boelens - Patrick Quintens), the A&C Racing Team (Yves Bollaerts - Arno Verstreppen), not to mention the Phenix Racing Junior team (Plumier - Poiré - Cheret), author of a beautiful 4th place last year...
