THE '6 HEURES MOTO 2020' WILL NOT TAKE PLACE IN THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 15

After a meeting with the people responsible for the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, DG Sport is forced to announce that the 2020 edition of the '6 Heures Moto' will not take place on the date initially fixed, i.e. Sunday August 16.

“Of course, the Covid-19 pandemic that we have been experiencing for several weeks now, is at the basis of this decision, comments Florian Jupsin on behalf of DG Sport Events. Many major events have already been postponed, and the track of Spa-Francorchamps is above all trying to find a replacement date for the ‘World Championship’ type events in the second half of the season. The promoters of the FIA Endurance World Championship, the competition that oversees the 24 Hours of Le Mans, formalized last Friday the dates of the FIA-WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and this much-awaited meeting will take place in the weekend of August 15, in the wake of the European Le Mans Series. A decision that we can only respect as world competitions logically have priority. "

Though no replacement date can be formalized at this time, on the side of DG Sport Events and the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, we continue to consider different options ... depending on the development of the health crisis. "We managed to give a great boost to the '6 Heures Moto' last year, and the success of the Parade organized on Saturday evening in the streets of Spa had a lot to do with it",  continues Florian Jupsin. So there is no question of dropping this event, which is the only motorcycle endurance race in Belgium. Let us give time some time, before deciding anything. In the current crisis, it is clear that no one has all the cards in hands. Neither the Circuit nor DG Sport. Wait and see… ”
