Communiqué de presse
The health situation in Belgium and across most of Europe having deteriorated, a series of additional measures to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has been taken by the State federal Government, the Governments of Wallonia and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and the Provincial Authorities of Belgium.
As a consequence of these new measures, the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps will close its doors from Monday 26 October 2020 and this closure is to last until 19 November 2020.
The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps also being the promoter of the Spa World Rallycross of Benelux, the authorities had already decided to hold this behind closed doors. This professional competition will be able to take place on 21 and 22 November as well as the two specials of the FIA World Rally Championship also to take place on the Circuit site in accordance with the current legal and regulatory conditions at the time.
Nathalie Maillet, CEO: “Our priority has been, since the start of this pandemic, to respect the instructions decreed in order to participate in the collective effort in the battle against Covid-19 and this in everybody’s interests. Like all other sectors, we are faced with an unprecedented situation and strict health measures have been taken since the month of March. I would like to thank all our customers, organisers, teams, all the Circuit teams and those working for the smooth running of our activities for their unwavering support in respect for these health measures that have been put in place. We have also to give special thanks to the forces of law and order and to the healthcare professionals. And finally thanks to our fans for their understanding and support.”
The medical supplies of the Circuit useful in the fight against Covid-19 will be made available to medical centres from this Monday.
Take good care, respect the official recommendations, avoid all unnecessary contacts and stay at home as much as possible. Also take care of your loved ones.
