The Bikers’Classics :

another time-travel machine

Following on from the Spa Summer Classic this 2016 return will only be of short duration. Next weekend, another "come-back" will propel us into the world of the Bikers' Classics, another date with the past, but this time for motorcycles.

And this 14th edition promises to be memorable. Firstly with the anticipated presence of the "classic" machines, the most technological and most powerful that you can imagine: the MotoGP. But also with the attendance of top-class international stars such as the event regular Giacomo Agostini, legend of the Continental Circus and most titled rider to this day, who will delight the young and not-so-young with his class, his good mood and his wide availability. He will be accompanied by other stars such as Christian Sarron (World Champion 250 in 1984), Didier de Radigues who needs no introduction in Belgium, Michel and Xavier Simeon (our current rider in the very high-level Moto2 World  Championship) , or even ace mechanics like the  Frenchman Guy Coulon (co-founder of the Tech 3 team) or the Belgian Bernard Ansiau (dedicated mechanic of Valentino Rossi).

There will be some big names there too as part of the European Classic Series, a 4-hour endurance race which will be a fitting end to Saturday 2 July. In addition to the Belgian riders such as Grégory Fastré, Richard Hubin or Stéphane Mertens, the undoubted star will be John McGuiness, 23-times winner of the famous Tourist Trophy.

Another big, much anticipated moment, Bradley Smith, Team Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider, will carry out a few spins on the Spa-Francorchamps track at the handlebars of a Yamaha 500.

As always, spectators will enjoy the side-car specialists, these crews on three-wheel motorbikes always providing an incomparable adrenaline rush to the people present. This extraordinary category will see the presence of Rolf Steinhausen (World Champion) 1975-6, Egbert Streuer (World Champion from 1984 to 1986) and his son Bennie (World Champion title), Max Deubel (4 times World Champion between 1961 and 1964), Larry Coleman (AMA Champion three times), Derek 'Crazy Horse' Jones, Steve Abott or Alain Michel, the only French side-car speed World Champion (in 1990).

As always, the Bikers' Classics, is above all a whole set of events and entertainment. Whether on or off the track, there is always something happening from Friday morning to Sunday at the end of the day. Among the unmissable events: the Concert on Saturday evening (with the Hot For 90s group and the Classic 21 competition), the Historical Parade on the old 14Km circuit, the commercial village and its 800m² of exhibition space, and trading exchange…

So, don't hesitate, as you will not regret it. This is a rendezvous for those passionate about motorbikes, and you'll also discover new thrills on the most beautiful Circuit in the world.
