Total 24 Hours of Spa

Opposing forces!

The 68th edition of the total 24 Hours of Spa, which takes place from the 26th July to 31st July 2016, promises yet again to be exceptional. Sixty-five teams currently make up the impressive list of confirmed starters for this legendary race.

The battle for the final victory is less than certain with no fewer than twenty-nine cars in the Overall "Pro" grouping. And, at the steering wheel are the best GT drivers in  the world who, let there be no doubt, won't give an inch trying to win this coveted trophy.

The most prestigious manufacturers have understood the importance of this unique event in terms of image, and consequently, like other years, will be there in numbers.

Among the German makers, Audi, with its R8 LMS cars, can bank on the presence of eleven cars. Mercedes also takes this meeting very seriously with no fewer than eight AMG GT3s lined up. After its victory in 2015 with the BMW Z4 of the Belgian team Marc VDS, the Bavarian manufacturer will start an entirely new model: the BMW M6 GT3. Four cars are lined up. The public will also be able to follow four Porsche 911 GT3Rs entered by a private team.

Beautiful Italians will also be out in force with Ferrari who can count on fourteen cars: nine 488 GT3s and five 458 Italia GT3s. Lamborghini, of course, will also be at the party, with ten Huracan GT3s and one Gallardo R-ex.

Let's not forget the English among which we will have four impressive Bentley Continental GT3s at the start; perhaps not favourites but to keep an eye on since they could create a surprise. McLaren has three superb 650S GT3s. Finally, not to be forgotten are two Jaguar G3s and an Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

To wrap up this prestigious list, the Japanese manufacturer Nissan will be happy to try upsetting the hierarchy with its spectacular RWG Nismo GT3s. With only two of these, their reliability will therefore be of paramount importance.

We will return with more detail on the full programme of this major race on the calendar in our beautiful Circuit…
