Ladies & gentlemen, Start your engines !

Ladies & gentlemen, Start your engines !

Our teams are on the starting line, impatient to welcome you back for the 2022 season. A season that certainly promises to be thrilling once again!

Access to the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is open to one and all from the 16 March with no restrictions after two years of disruption. Once again you’ll be able to enjoy our days of racing, events and trackdays!

The winter break was an opportunity to do an extensive facelift of the Circuit. First of all, the track was left unchanged but safety measures were adapted   and strengthened for the return of a legendary race: the 24Hr SPA EWC Motos on 4 & 5 June (FIM Endurance World Championship). Run-off areas were enlarged, with a creation of gravel traps, new tarmac at the Raidillon and at Speaker’s Corner and finally, for this last turn, the creation of a double track: one unchanged track dedicated to 4 wheels and a second on its left dedicated to 2 wheels. Fans of 2 wheels will experience an exceptional weekend with the EWC endurance motorcycle championship and three support races to complete the programme: the 4 Hours Spa Classic, the FIM Sidecar World Championship and finally the International Bridgestone Handy Race. All around the Circuit, numerous activities and experiences will be offered to fans who will be hosted in the very best of conditions.

There’s another innovation on the first weekend of September when the Circuit  hosts a UCI competition with the WES Spa-Francorchamps UCI E-Mountain Bike World Cup. Our renowned wooded expanses are the ideal terrain for a World Cup electric mountain-bike course. It’s yet another step in the diversification of the Circuit. On one hand we are hosting cycling, a sport other than motorsport, and on the other, it is an electric round, another technological development.

On the track the Brûleurs de Gommes will get the ball rolling on events that should not be missed from the first opening weekend. We will gather again for the WEC-6 Hours of Spa races at the beginning of May. Traditions remain in place with the 24Hr of Spa-Francorchamps at the end of July and the arrival of a certain Valentino Rossi, the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix at the end of August and the ELMS in September.  In Endurance, we have the 25Hr Fun Cup again, the 12 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the DTM, the 24H2CV and, of course, the 6Hr Motos.

Those who love fine motors will be sure not to miss the Spa Six Hours, the Spa Classic, the  Bikers’ Classics or even the Spa Summer Classic. The Franco Fun Festival, GT Open, Spa Italia & Spa Asia, Spa Racing Festival and the Porsche Club Francorchamps Days will also be on the card. And let’s not forget the Benelux World Rallycross of Spa-Francorchamps in October!

To sum up, there will be something for all tastes once more this year with a rich and diverse calendar of races and meetings. Not to forget our hundreds of trackdays, SRO test days, the SRO Speed Week, and the EWC Motos and ELMS test days. Something to delight the greatest number of people!

Once again this year we have been working to improve our public hosting facilities with the construction of a grandstand at the top of the Raidillon that will offer you a breathtaking view up to La Source. This will be accessible to the general public from the end of April.

The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is embedded at the heart of innovation but while also keeping its soul, fully anchored in its history. You will be able to discover our history over the course of the season by returning to our 100th  anniversary in images as part of an exhibition.

We are waiting for you impatiently, with more and more of you coming, in a family group or with friends, to the Ardennes temple of motorsports.
