The major meeting of the season

They’re all waiting for it... but who are they? The drivers, of course, for whom driving at Spa-Francorchamps always represents a unique challenge in the season. All drivers adore this track, but sometimes fear it, especially if the weather conditions are unpredictable. TV viewers also, because this Belgian meeting on this legendary Circuit has a large following, like the meetings at Monaco, Silverstone and Monza. But also the spectators who come from all over the world for this always-very-spectacular Grand Prix on the most beautiful Circuit in the world.
And this year is very special thanks to a young driver, the youngest to have ever won a Formula 1 Grand Prix. His name? Max Verstappen. It happened this year in Barcelona in Spain. His age? Only 18! His nationality? Dutch. And his powerful rise to the firmament of ace drivers is far from going unnoticed by our neighbours to the north. Yes, it’s quite possible that the Circuit risks being coloured orange during this weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28th of August.
The organiser has said that at the close of pre-sales, 25% of tickets had been snapped up for this edition which promises to be thrilling. All the stands are "sold out", but obviously there are still lots of places available in the various "bronze" general admission areas. And pre-sales closed on Sunday 14 August. But the good news is that all the Circuit ticket booths will be open the 26th, 27th and 28th of August.
To return to the competition itself, who is ready to succeed Lewis Hamilton? With the domination exercised by the Mercedes drivers for three years now, it seems logical that Hamilton and his teammate Nico Rosberg are once again the big favourites this year. Everything will depend also on the weather conditions which, if they are changeable or rainy, could re-shuffle the cards and give the chance, perhaps to the young Dutch prodigy mentioned above, or perhaps to his teammate Daniel Ricciardo, winner in 2014. Let’s not forget the Ferrari drivers, the quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel and his garage neighbour Kimi Raikkönen who, let’s recall, is the active driver who has got himself the most wins on the "tobogan of the Ardennes". In fact, with four victories, he’s one to watch for a final victory. And why not a totally unexpected winner?...
So, an appointment on Sunday the 28th around 4 pm to get an answer...
