It could be said that weekends follow one another and no two are alike. After the flagship event of the season, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the stage is now set for Skoda Spa Cycling, this Sunday, 4 September.
This event is an exclusive opportunity to pedal on the tarmac of the world's most beautiful Circuit, scarcely 7 days after the passage of the F1s at Spa-Francorchamps! While the Circuit lives to the rhythm of sports engines throughout the season, Skoda Spa Cycling gives way instead to the sound of derailleurs, accelerated heartbeats and to sweat…
The organiser has chosen to offer several event formats in order to suit the interests of all cycling communities. The key event remains the 8hr relay race on the circuit. Then to this is added the mountain-bike event, also by teams and for an 8hr duration. The composition of the teams is divided into 4 categories comprising 1, 2, 4, or 8 persons: solo, duo, quattro, otto.
Skoda Spa Cycling also offers the possibility of participating in the increasingly-popular biking discipline of Enduro: a trail-riding event with time-trial format.
However, this event remains above all a recreational and fun sporting event. Several recreational areas will be upgraded for the greater pleasure of all: fun activities are planned for families and children and there's a "chill out zone" for participants waiting to take their next turn in the race.
