24H 2CV

The double round of the clock as a family

This 15th and 16th of October, it's time for the legendary 2CVs on the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit for the last race of the season. The 24H2CV race is in its 32nd edition, an amazing event to enjoy as a family.

The 2CV, or 2HP "Tin Duck", was presented for the first time at the Auto Salon in Paris in 1948. Outcome of a project called TPV ( Fr: for a really small car), it created an occasion to finally turn itself into a real society phenomenon!

With its little two-cylinder engine and a performance far from being that of a racing car, who would have imagined that it could turn up one day in a race?

And yet, in 1985, the first 24 hours 2CV race was organised, on the most beautiful Circuit in the world...

The success of this race, which is so unlike any  other, is always ensured as there are at least 70 crews which will depart for the assault of the Raidillon this Saturday 15th of September at 12:30 pm.

And just like in high-level championships, participants will battle it out for victory in several categories: Hybrids, Protos, Improved and Classic.

Other races are also scheduled for this weekend: The BGDC (Belgian Gentleman Drivers' Club) for which it will be the last round. This 180' round will start on Sunday at 2:55 pm. There will also be the French Twin Cup and its Renault Twingos which will have their first run on Saturday at 10:35 am before confronting each other a second time on Sunday at 1:45 pm.

So, for all those who wish to discover a "different kind of race" as a family, and for fans of the 2CV Tin Duck, you have an appointment this weekend for an entirely-free show (paddocks included).
