In the winter of 2014-15, the FMB and KNMV came together to launch a new series of races to create the BeNecup. The idea was to run national riders on different circuits in both countries, Belgium and the Netherlands.

In 2019, the Motorcycle Federation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg made the decision to get involved in the series and add a round to Colmar-Berg. The BeNecup is renamed BeNelux Trophy. The best national athletes from the Netherlands and neighbouring countries, such as France, Germany and Luxembourg, will then be able to compete to try to repot the BeNeLux Trophy.
The BeNeLux Trophy may not be the biggest series or national championship in Europe, but at the Belgian national level, all the best riders participate in the BeNeLux Trophy and fight for each point.

Mainly Belgium-Netherlands duels

Belgian Yan Ancia (2019-2020-2022) is the most successful with three SBK final victories, followed by his compatriots Sander Claessen (2018-2021) and Vincent Lonbois (2015-2016) with two titles each. Usually, the title fights are duels between Belgians and Dutch, with only one exception when Luxembourg’s Noah Lequeux won the SuperSport 600 title in 2020.
In general, most titles go to Belgians in SBK and Dutch in SSP. Last year, the Dutchman Ricardo Brink came, saw and conquered in the 1000cc category and Bram Lambrechts in the SSP 600, after exciting duels throughout the season with Jef Van Calster. The last race of the last weekend of September brought the decision.
We can note the participation of several EWC riders who participated in the BeNeLux Trophy including; Pepijn Bijsterbosch, Bastien Mackels, Gian Mertens, Nicky De Wit, Bram Lambrechts, Rob Hartog, Nigel Walraven, Vincent Lonbois, Yan Ancia or even Sander Claessen.
This year, the opening race in April in Croix-en-Ternois, under a great summer sun, was already a complete success with, especially in 1000cc, a full peloton of just under thirty riders, a satisfactory number of spectators and races with a lot of tension.
