There is life after Vision!

For the sixth consecutive year, the Management of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit invites, on Wednesday this 2nd March, Luc Costermans and his association "The impaired-vision drivers and their crazy machines" to come and drive the legendary Formula 1 circuit. During this exceptional day, 15 visually-impaired persons will be present for the occasion. Eight Belgians and seven French, members of the "NVDM" association, will drive driver-school cars, the best of them reaching top speeds of 120 to 150 km/hr.
In order to add some spice to the challenge, a Renault Mégane RS of 265 hp will complete the offering. Equipped with double controls, it will allow participants to experience thrills close to those of competition.
A first this year: the 5e primary class from the Commune school of La Reid (Theux), neighbouring the Circuit will also be joining the party. The pedagogical objective is to make these young children aware of the automobile world for the visually-impaired and to share with them the now famous Luc Costermans slogan announced during his conferences: There is life after vision! ".
Just like in other years, several guests from brands which are representative of Belgian motorsport will be present to meet these little angels and to try driving wearing blindfolds. Namely: Vanina Ickx, Marc Duez, Grégoire de Mévius, Sarah Bovy, and not forgetting the European championship duo on the Circuit in 1983: Pierre Alain Thibaut and Philippe Ménage.
